E.g., veganism is not amazing or a sign of how awesome you are.
What is amazing and awesome is actually making a difference for individuals suffering terribly.
This thought came to mind when I saw all the posts around Thanksgiving. Can you point to anyone who went vegan because someone told them "GO VEGAN!"?
Is it that difficult to realize saying that over and over makes it less likely for people to really consider making a meaningful change?
A sincere question.
If you are reading this, you are almost certainly better off than at least 99.99% of all sentient individuals who have ever lived on this planet. Being grateful for this is, I think, the rational reaction to our good fortune. We don't need to be told how awesome we are, or that "we" are "winning."
It doesn't need to be about us.
IMHO, others are in more need than our ego.
