About the author

I am the author, co-author, secondary-author, ghost-author, and non-author of articles, speeches, book chapters, and even entire books! The most recent can be found at LosingMyReligions.net. Currently, I am President of One Step for Animals; previously, I was shitcanned from so many nonprofits that we can’t list them all here. Before my unfortunate encounter with activism, I was an aerospace engineer who wanted to work for NASA (to impress Carl Sagan). My hobbies include photography, almost dying, and {REDACTED}. I live in Tucson with my soulmate and reluctant editor Anne, along with the occasional snake and scorpion.

Irony & New Review & B&N

“I finally opened this now I’m not going to be able to sleep a wink because I want to read the whole damn thing! Just ordered a paperback, mainly so I don’t stay up all night reading right now.”

Losing My Religions is finally available from Barnes & Noble.

Irony: The first place the three of us stayed in Tucson (on vacation from Pittsburgh in 1998) is the hotel right across the street from Tucson Medical Center. That is where Anne ended up driving / visiting me countless times since we've moved here, and is featured repeatedly in Losing. (Whenever we go somewhere, Anne has to know where the nearest hospital is. Be warned if we come to visit!)

OTOH, never went to the hospital for a snakebite!
