Sunday Funny: You are my everything

 From Dave Barry's latest*:

The blame must be placed squarely on the same phenomenon that is also causing virtually every other major problem humanity is dealing with these days, including droughts, floods, heat waves, hurricanes, blizzards, El NiƱo (Spanish for “The Nino”), tornados, earthquakes, inflation, the housing shortage, influencers, TV-lawyer ads, two-factor authentication and explosive diarrhea. I am referring, of course, to Global Climate Change™.

Except, of course, the one thing that actually is being driven in part by increased levels of carbon dioxide. From Hannah Ritchie's newsletter that appeared at the same time as Barry's, there is more food because of the evil carbon:

Yes, I'm guilty of a lot. But I don't claim every ill in the world could be solved by veganism. Just the opposite.

*Barry's linked column is about smoke from Canada's wildfires. From Vox's Bryan Walsh:

Burned area worldwide during the 2025-26 fire season came in 18 percent below the 2002-2024 average, and as the [below] chart shows, carbon emissions from fires globally in the first half of 2026 were the lowest since satellites started measuring nearly a quarter century ago, coming in at roughly half their early-2000s level.
