It's crinkle time! Don't add oregano. |
After a month where (literally) tons of people subscribed to this newsletter (Hi!) a reader discovered the blog's subscription option no longer worked. I created this landing page - please let me know if you have any issues. TY.
Paul Ingram's Pain Science has been very interesting during my years of chronic pain. His recent bit on Dry Needling reminded me of my experience with acupuncture. The piece is a short masterclass on various cognitive biases. (I have loads of sympathy for trying anything to deal with pain. I had a Thai massage last month. 😬 )
Anyone on Bluesky that I should follow? They can't mention US politics! I am MattBallAZ
On AppleTV, we liked season 1 of Bad Sisters and Shrinking. But stopped watching season 2 of both. However, we have enjoyed both seasons of Silo (we've read the books).
The herb oregano is great. Putting more of it on pizza: 👍👌🔥
Target Date Retirement Mutual Funds blow. They are supposed to be less risky the closer you get to retirement. But in 2022, the TIAA 2025 and 2030 retirement target date funds that I saw were down more than the 2040 date fund! And the close-on funds have not recovered as much since then. So, if you were "conservatively" using target-date funds and close to retirement, you would have been worse off in a target-date fund than just being 100% in stocks. More re: bonds vs stocks.
