Short: ”Be nasty"

I'm not saying you should read this. Just noting that the destruction of our political system started decades ago.

In Losing, I lay a large part of our country's degradation at the feet of Newt Gingrich. He began this before Reagan. In 1978, he said, “One of the great problems we have in the Republican Party is that we don’t encourage you to be nasty.” More at: "How Newt Gingrich Destroyed America."
