Marc Andreessen was at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign when Anne and I were there (along with Nick Offerman). Marc's recent article, Why AI Will Save the World, and interview on EcoTalk hit all the notes I've been harping on: AI has great potential to make the world a better place; AI doomers have created their own non-falsifiable cult; "Greens" have made and continue to make the world a much worse place (funding Putin's war; pumping a lot more CO2 into the atmosphere, etc.).
