About the author

I am the author, co-author, secondary-author, ghost-author, and non-author of articles, speeches, book chapters, and even entire books! The most recent can be found at LosingMyReligions.net. Currently, I am President of One Step for Animals; previously, I was shitcanned from so many nonprofits that we can’t list them all here. Before my unfortunate encounter with activism, I was an aerospace engineer who wanted to work for NASA (to impress Carl Sagan). My hobbies include photography, almost dying, and {REDACTED}. I live in Tucson with my soulmate and reluctant editor Anne, along with the occasional snake and scorpion.

Plant-Based Chicken Taste Test (and bonus for weekend)

Last night, Anne and I did a blind taste test of Beyond's (from Whole Foods, in their vegetarian section) and Impossible's (from Trader Joe's, right next to slaughter-based chicken) chicken. We both thought Impossible's was noticeably better. (Anne still prefer's Gardein's.)

On Beyond's package, they loudly say "NO GMO's." I remember listening to multiple interviews with Beyond's Ethan Brown, who said, "People tell us they don't want GMOs." I have to say, with all due respect, you are talking to the wrong people, Mr. Brown. What people want is cheap meat. Full stop.

Bonus: Paul McCartney's "New" is pretty shockingly good! I'm sorry I missed it when it came out. Here is the lead track:
