Follow-up to The Human Fetish:
Early in his recent anti-AI podcast, Derek Thompson (whom I respect) repeated bad misinformation (about AI!) from the New York Times.
If his guest hadn't been there to correct him, that lie from the Times would have just continued to spread via Derek.
This is not an attempt to dunk on Derek. Rather, I want to question the unquestioned assumption that "human = good, AI = slop."
The internet was filled with harmful garbage way before ChatGPT.
The media was filled with yellow trash well before the internet.
We are the slop.
(This post's title is a play on three of the most "AI-associated" words.)
